Ingredients:
* 1 cup milk
* 2 dozen oysters
* 1 tablespoonful butter
* 1/3 teaspoon salt
* dash of pepper
* 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup COLD water (if needed)
Directions:
1. Heat the milk in a double boiler; add the seasonings and butter.
2. Clean the oysters and cook them in a saucepan until they become plump and the edges curl.
3. Add the hot milk/seasoning sauce to the oysters. Heat about 2 minutes and serve at once.
Serve with crackers or sourdough bread.
Note: If a thick sauce is desired, add cornstarch/water mix to milk in step 1 above. Heat while stirring constantly until desired thickness is obtained.
